According to the person running the youtube page promoting Zaki Ameen and his books on Islam, Zaki Ameen is a former Muslim Imam, who has left Islam and has decided to educate us Muslims and non-Muslims about the evils of the religion of Islam. A religion whose book and everything else was fabricated by the Prophet(alayhi salam), not divinely revealed, according to him.
We spoke about the fake ex-Muslim phenomenon earlier, but here I would like to summarize some of its dimensions:
1. Fake former Muslims are used to deceive unsuspecting Muslims who are not knowledgeable about Islam. It is a tactic that makes Muslims more open to the proselytizing efforts of Missionaries, thus making them prime for conversion. Dramatizations using actors pretending to be ex-Muslims are used as authorities on Islam. Anyone with a cursory familiarity recognizes the deceptiveness of this tactic.
2. Muslims who are either very secular and not very knowledgeable or are non-practicing/cultural Muslims, meaning Muslims in name only, are propped up as experts on Islam. Further scrutiny reveals their “criticism” of Islam to be lifted, sometimes verbatim, from anti-Muslim ideologues, websites, books , and other materials.
3. Obvious frauds who were never Muslim are trotted out as experts on Islam, ostensibly providing the audience with an insider’s view of the reality of Islam. Further investigation reveals the falsity of their claims. Islamophobia seems to be big business on the way to being socially mainstream, yet time and time again we have seen these so-called Muslims exposed as frauds, so-called experts who can’t even get fundamental facts about Islam straight. Examples include atheist Wafa Sultan who is an atheist raised as an Alawi, pretending to be Muslim; Mehmet Ergun Caner trying to pretend to speak Arabic to unsuspecting American audiences, deceiving them to the contents of Qur’an, hadith, and bungling simple details that a 3-year-old Muslim child would get right; Walid Shoebat pretending to be a former terrorist, exposed as a liar about his extremist past; and Mark A. Gabriel, a supposed former Al-Azhar scholar and imam, who lifts Orientalist and Christian Missionary polemics and misinformation almost verbatim.
4. In an ongoing effort to present Extremist Muslims as representative of normative Islam, we are presented with former extremists, who all of a sudden are to be considered ‘alim. Since when is extremism(ghuluw) Islam?
5. Anonymous supposed ex-Muslims such as “Ibn Warraq” and “Dr” “Ali Sina” are presented as experts on Islam. The dangers of steeping outside the tradition of Islam in order to understand it are well-known, as it invariably leads to extremism of many types, but how are we really sure that anonymous people claiming to be former Muslims, displaying a serious lack of knowledge of Islam and scholarly credentials, were really ever Muslims?

Which type of former “muslim” does Zaki Ameen appear to be? You decide.

The Quran Surat Al-tawbah verse 29: tells “Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture – [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.”
Do not lie, at least be truthful on your own religion, If you’ll say “we need to revise some of islam teaching” I’ll say “ok, here is a trully peaceful person” but I know Islam well I read the quran, and some of the hadith so don’t lie.

I am a former Muslim, convert to Christianity, and personally know three other former Muslims who have either turned atheist or converted to Christianity. Two of which are pure Arabs coming from very conservative, religious families.
The denial Muslims live in regarding every ex-Muslim being “fake” shows how Muslims cannot accept that there are people who have been religious in Islam, read the Qur’an, prayed 5 times a day and fasted, people who were considered “mutawwa”, who left Islam. It’s a defense mechanism against the idea that Islam might in itself be highly flawed.
And when an anonymous person comes out and shows his real identity, Muslims still remain in denial and say: “Oh well he wasn’t really a Muslim to start with!”
Notice that? As I said before, it’s pathetic. You cannot refute what these “fake” ex-Muslims (as you claim) are saying, because it’s all there in the sources, and so instead you result to calling them fake and focusing on that instead of reading into what they’re presenting.
You said so many stupid things that I really don’t know where to start in answering you! First of all, people convert to different religions everyday. The fact that someone has left Islam mean absolutely nothing. People also leave christianity, Judaism, Budhaism or in some cases leave religion entirely and become non-believers. We are just arguing that idiots leave Islam and smart people embrace it.
Second, who the hell are those ex-Muslims that are described as experts in religion? Were they Muslim scholars? Who heard of them before they became the so-called “Ex-Muslims”? Those are people who became famous BECAUSE they attacked Islam. It is an easy and cheap way to get rich and famous. And the western media helps them tremendously with that.
Third, yes, there are people who leave Islam. But I can honestly tell you that these are people we were not proud to have them as Muslims in the very first place. So, we couldn’t care less what they convert to. Take you for example; according to your comment, you left Allah, the most Glorious, most Compassionate and most Merciful and decided to worship a triangular God who mutiplies and is too weak to defend himself against a bunch of Jews! I say Christianity is perfect for you.
Fourth, how many Muslim scholars have embraced christianity? None. How many christian clergymen have become Muslims? Many (And I can provide you with a list, too!)

What makes me laugh is that there is no biography about where Zaki Ameen was born and raised..nor anything about his early life..Anyone can assume that they have studied in this and that country..also usually authors promote their books through interviews or showing up in a bookstores like Farah Pahlavi have done or Salman Rushdie..But If you google Zaki Ameen you will find nothing but a site and youtube channel and a book..no face no nothing..only on the site it is assumed he has studied in these countries and that he is imam..My fathers friends are authors and i know when people publish books they get even interviewed and promote their books..with all respect i dont believe in an author who never show up his face..and dont tell me he is afraid of his life..If Farah Pahlavi who is a woman showed her face and even Salman Rushdie done that..so i have to say this dude is fake…

I’d like to ask all Muslims if you could please stop getting your underwear in a twist about ex-Muslims and people leaving Islam. If Islam is the truth, it’s not the truth because it has 1 billion members and 1 billion converts or 2 members and 2 converts. Also it’s not false just because people leave the religion. Truth has nothing to do with these things so what are Muslims so worried about? The Devil knows what truth is but he’s not following it, nor does he intend to! The fact is there are many people who are genuine ex-Muslims, I have some as friends and I’ve met many. SO WHAT?!?! Is the strength of Islam dependent on humans or God? Or is this all about not wounding Mohammed’s ego?! People are Islamophobic for the same reasons the Jews of Yathrib and the Coptic Chritstians in Egypt today are Islamophobic – Muslims like to threaten, kill and persecute anyone who critiscizes and or leaves the religion, even when they mean no offence!!! Every time I read Anthropology of Islam’s comments I get a good chuckle He constantly avoids the issues and always accuses his critics of doing exactly what he does himself. So many criticisms levelled at Islam are true; it is a religion (if you can call it that) that promotes violence,
discrimination towards women, discrimination towards other religions, legitamizes sex with underage females and on and on. Try moving to a Muslim country and telling them you are a Christian Never goinna happen. I think what one French politician said (sorry I can’t remember his name) is correct; Western society and Muslim society are incompatible and always will be so why do Muslims want to live in non Muslim societies when they make it clear they don’t like the way of life in those societies. Muslims should stay in Muslim countries and non Muslims should stay out of Muslim countries and that way we won’t have cultural clashes. Isn’t that simpler
